About

ELÍSABET ÁSBERG Icelandic artist born in 1967

Her art career started in 1990 and after successful years in jewelry design she changed course to sculptural art in various forms. Elísabet works first and foremost with metals where she finds inspiration from the core concepts of balance and flow. Her sculptures often revolve around images of water with a strong influence from Icelandic nature that creates a unique style across her artistic work.

Elísabet’s work has been on display in various solo exhibitions as well as group exhibitions and can be found in public spaces as well as private ones. Her latest noted public work is “Súlan” an outdoor sculpture made for the occasion of the anniversary of three municipal museums in Reykjanesbær, Iceland. The sculpture stands in front of the Duus Museum in Reykjanesbær.

Her hometown, Keflavík, is adorned with a large outdoor artwork by Elísabet and she also has a large piece that was specially designed for the EFTA Courthouse in Luxembourg.
